Faux Amber

This is one of my earliest work I've done in the past. I'm still in love how the faux amber appears in color, shape and to gave it a best natural look with all the cracks inserted.
Amber comes in so many different colorshades from nearly dark brown to an sparkling orange, clear or opaque. My mom found a big piece of natural amber at an beach-walk at the East-coast. My faux comes nearly close to the natural stone and I think it's not my badest work I've done so far ;-))

Copper&Gems

The last days I was experimenting with wire-working and my first necklace is done. My goal was to embellish each gemstone with wire and am very lucky for the result.
I'm thinking to oxidize the copper to give the coiling a more antique look, maybe I'll wait till it becomes vintage by itself.
This is a night shot with flash and I'll redo tomorrow with daylight.

Summer Sale

What do you think about a little summer sale on beads? We have a little box full of pretty beads waiting for a new home. This time we will have a few new bead strands for sale and some sets for a special reduced summer price. For those who are homestead and not travelling for holiday ;-))

One more time....

I did it again. This time I use a fancy jasper coin and for the branch small round carneol beads. I want to use it with gold colored craft wire as I thought the gold would match perfect the stones. That's right.... but it was definately the wrong wire for that work. Too strong and springy, won't stand in the position it should and always trying to spring off of the proceed I was working, arrrgh. Hard for my thumb with holding the thinn strong wire. That coiling thing wasn't so pleasant and I won't go for it with that type of wire again.

White Luxury

This year the summer is really hot and humid for us. As we are not familar with the humidity and most have to dress up for business many are beging for refreshing rain. We got the rain for a complete week and so I was able to work a little bit on clay and complete this serie. I was under the influence of a few clay artists and designer, got inspiration for some beads.... color use... assambling all together and make a mix for myself. At least I got two braceletts, one stretchy and the other wired like a flexible cuff. Two princess necklaces and a matinee necklace complete my work for the week. Even the beads looks little bit rustic you can wear the necklaces formal or to dress up a simple shirt.

Summer in the City...

At these days it is HOT.... HOTTER..... something most of us aren't familar with. Look at my balcony, the blooms and plants are exploding for the sun and humidity we have. We have day over 31° C and at night only a few degrees less 25° C.

It's hard to work over day and at night hard to find a sleep. It would be so perfect with a beach and some water in the near, lol.

Enjoy the summer.... I'll do anyhow :-))

Back to beads

Hello all my friends and visitors!

The move took most of our strength, to be honest.... all of our strength. But now the most important settings are done and I got my little elven-tower for beadmaking. Not so big as the previous one, but comfortably enough that I love to sit inside and clay.

Beside is a little preview of what will come next week. Yes, I can pronounce a bead-sale for Monday 25th of May. I will start uploading a few bead-sets about 11:00 a.m.

About sons and daugthers....

Today we visited Kruemel's babies the last time. All four have found a new home with loving parents. 5 weeks ago we thought they all were daughters, but after a vet examination we now know better. All girls are boys, haha. Anyway they are all adorable and we feel so so sorry that we couldn't take one home. We fell in love with Balu (here in the laying position). His behaviour, his look, his acting.... all and everything is so similar to Kruemel. It was hard to go without him.
We wish all of Kruemel's sons good luck for their life and well caring, loving parents.






Beside all I'm back at beads, yeepeeh. As you can see, my work room is ready. It's much smaller then the previous one, but it's comfortably and cozy to sit there.

So hopefully the next photos I can present are from beads.

Just to say Hello.....

With these pretty colors mother natures offers I want to wish you all a wonderful week.

I was able to pick my beads down from the attic and found a nice place for them. As I said, space is getting rare but I'm busy to get my stuff in. Wish me luck that this week I get the chance to look for some low shelfs which will fit to the wall. In the meantime I can play a little bit with my beads.

Beside all the work we enjoy our life at the wonderful scenery around. Life changed so much for us.... we still have the feeling it's holidays and not our real living, haha. Weather is warm and sunny what isn't regular in April for us and so we can stay outside or at the balcony many hours a day. Our new neighbours are so friendly and whenever you met one you'll have a little snatter. Time flies and so often I ask myself where are the days gone.
For all of you in the near and so far..... have all a wonderful sunny and pleasant week!

Hello again.....

We moved in and the time behind was hard and stressfull. I'm still busy with all the changes and decisions I have to do till I'm ready with the final settings. I have to make it carefully as it has to last for a loooong time...... I hope so.

Till yet I didn't find a nice place for my beading and my complete stuff is still stored at the attic. The new rooms are so different from what we had before and I recognize, I have to much stuff. First I have to organize my household and then see where I can find a small space for my beads. It's like a puzzle, haha.
Also me and my husband have definately overworked and go over our strength. Our muscles are so much in pain, I can't tell it. From my left wrist the complete hand is swollen and I have difficulties to hold a pen or something. We surely need a break from the hard work. It's the price you have to pay if you are growing elder and don't notice it, hehe.

Anyway we are lucky to settle down in a nice landscape and the scene I publish here is a few steps far from our new home. In the background you can see the Ruhr-river and my old hometown. Some new friends from Kruemel are playing around in the corner. For him it must be a paradise as he can run free through the green, fields and forest and behind each corner a new adventure is waiting for him. He met sheeps, horses and many, many dogs.

So that are my news for the moment. When I'm ready to rumble with beads again, I will let you know. In the meanwhile have a good time and

Happy Beading

Miss my beading....

... but my stuff is anywhere in the boxes. And this is only the half of boxes. The other half is waiting to get filled. Second week in March we will move to our new residence.

Next week we can bring some of the boxes over to the new home and I get more space for the next ones. So all days are busy with packing and organisation.

Hope to be back to the normal in April. Wish me luck it's not a dream, haha! Miss you all!

We have to move

The last weeks are troublesome for me and my family. We have to move our home after beeing here for nearly 20 years living and living my complete life in this part of my hometown. We live in an very old house and made alot of comprises to things which are going worse and the house-lord don't brings to an acceptable point. We loved to live here and so we ever try to find a good solution for us.
Just before Christmas we got to know that we will lost our beautiful garden around our house which gives us a nice view from all our windows. We plant trees and flowers, each summer over the last 20 years we where busy there. And now the new house-lord will build up several garages at this wonderful place. The view from our windows will be walls :-(( Counting all bad things we have to deal here, this is now to much and we thought it would be better to move for our comfort.
Easy to say but not to do.
Since now we're searching for a new home what has the most of all criterials we need. Enough rooms, nice view and safe area around, raisonable price.... and... and... Nothing luxerious but cozy to feel good inside.
Most we found lays in an area a woman won't like to go out without a bodygard, the price was to high, to small, no dogs allowed and... and.... We got tired about many inspections without a success and felt sad and hopeless to find something pleasant.
Last week I spread my search to the neighbour cities around and we found an appartment what looks nice, have enough rooms, a raisonable price and offers many things to feel cozy. Today we will make the contract there and wish me all luck that all turns well.
It is hard to move from the place where you live all your life but we will take it at the third part of our life and hope it will be our best. The new place is 20 kilometers far from here and a more rural area so we got to live with much nature around. Great view over fields and woods from our balcony, nice to walk with our little puppy and a paradise for him.
Next weeks will be filled with buying new furnitures as we have to make some changes for the new home and packing all the inventory. As my husband had an accident and a broken sinew in his hand the most work is to be done from me with his one-hand-assistance.
We have to move first or second week in March so the distance is short and a lot of work to be done till then. I will keep in touch with you whenever I find time. Whenever I'm quiet now you know why.

Hello everybody....
hope you all have had a wonderful holiday season and are now forwarding what the new year will bring goods to us even it looks like we will have not such a smooth journey. We all should try to keep staying positive. With a smile most turns easier is what I say and so I will kepp smiling.

This is what I got to see this early morning. Lots of snow. It starts snowing yesterday and still do..... so I'm curious what we will get more over the day. This area isn't familar with so much snow, that's something for the alps. I'm sure our traffic turn chaotic and many will rest their car at home. As much as it looks lovely, peaceful and calm, for those who has to go to work it is not nice.

About the weather I will hold on posting new beads as I won't be able to guaranty for the shipment. Meanwhile I will throw some nice snow-balls over to you ;-))

After my daughters friend helped me with repairing my computer system I'm now gladly back online. He has done a great job and all is fine and I can go for the next bead sale.

Latest News

We are still having trouble with the computer. We aren't able to find the failure and it looks like it is with the system. We have to make a clear off of the computer and reload the system again. I'm waiting for my "specialist" to help me doing this work.
If I can be sure the problem is solved and the computer works safety we will have our bead-sale. Till then I'm working on more beads and hope for your patience.

Just to let you know that I have difficulties to stay connected to the internet. Several hours a day I stay offline so don't worry if I don't response to your mails. We are working at the problem.

NEW ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

I aplogize for nothing happend at Friday and no beads appeared. Thursday night the telephone and internet connections for the house got broken and the telephone corporation had to renew the complete equipment. I could go online again on Sunday and keep my fingers crossed it will keep working after all is replaced.

On Tuesday 23th of September around 11:00 a.m. I will upload the beads for September. Hope you find again time to have a look then.
